
Deregistration of Mayor Construction and GIMM Water Experts & Drilling Ltd
The National Construction Industry Council (NCIC) would like to inform all Clients,
Consultants, Contractors, Material Manufacturers, Material Suppliers, Professional Boards and Associations, Construction Stakeholders and the general public that following a disciplinary hearing NCIC conducted, the persons listed below have been found guilty of professional misconduct and have subsequently been deregistered in accordance with Section 27 of the National Construction Industry Act, Cap 53:05 of the Laws of Malawi and in accordance with the National Construction Industry (Disciplinary) Rules, Cap 53:05 Sub.leg. p29. The firms have been de-registered effective March 27th 2025 are:
(a) Goodluck Kam’bwemba trading as Mayor Construction was found guilty of deceiving the Council by submitting a forged Works Completion Certificate for the purpose of upgrading into a higher class contracry to General Rules of Practice 3(a) of the Code of Ethics for Contractors in the Construction Industry and conducting deceptive acts contrary to Fundamental Principle 5 of the Codes of Ethics for Contractors in the Construction Industry
(b) GIMM Water Experts and Drilling Ltd was found guilty of deceiving a client by submitting a forged NCIC Certificate to carry out construction works contrary to General Rules of Practice 3(a) of the Code of Ethics for Contractors in the Construction Industry and conducting deceptive acts contrary to Fundamental Principle 5 of the Codes of Ethics for Contractors in the Construction Industry
Therefore, above listed firms are therefore no longer registered Firms and are not allowed to carry on business in the construction industry in Malawi with effect from 27th March 2025. NCIC therefore advises all stakeholders to take note of this development and ensure that they do not hire the services of the above listed firms as doing so will be construed as aiding and abetting the illegal operation of a person or firm.
