NCIC plants 10, 000 trees in the 2020-2021 tree planting season

Led by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ms Linda M. Phiri and all Directors, the National Construction Industry Council has planted nearly 10, 000 trees in the 2020-2021 tree planting season. The exercise has been held in all the three regions of the country as a way of giving back to society, but also taking part in environmental conservation in the country.

The exercise was held at Dedza Mountain Plantation in Dedza, in Traditional Authority (TA) Amidu’s area in Balaka, and at Manyamula in Mzimba district.

At Dedza plantation, about 4, 000 pine trees on 3 hectares of land; 2, 500 trees of various species in Balaka; while at Manyamula, the Council coordinated the planting of 3, 000 trees.

Communities and local leaders surrounding all the sites participated in the exercise and were urged to take care of the trees.
