Stakeholders Invitation: Sensitization Workshops on the Construction Industry Regulatory Act, 2025

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works, in collaboration with the National Construction Industry Council (NCIC), currently transitioning to the Construction Industry Regulatory Authority (CIRA), invites all stakeholders in the construction sector to a series of Sensitization Workshops on the institutional transition.

These workshops are part of a national awareness campaign aimed at informing, engaging, and preparing industry players for the operational shift from NCIC to CIRA, following the enactment of the Construction Industry Regulatory Act, in June 2025.

Objectives of the Workshops:

  • To introduce stakeholders to the new mandate, structure, and functions of CIRA
  • To explain the implications of the transition on registration, licensing, compliance, and project monitoring
  • To outline new standards, systems, and procedures being introduced under CIRA
  • To provide a platform for dialogue, feedback, and clarification of roles under the new regulatory framework

Target Participants:

  • Contractors, consultants, engineers, quantity surveyors, physical planners and architects
  • Suppliers and service providers in the construction sector
  • Government institutions and regulatory bodies
  • Development partners and civil society organizations
  • Academia and training institutions
  • All other interested stakeholders

Blantyre:                 14th October 2025

Lilongwe:                21st October 2025

Mzuzu:                   24th October 2025
