National Construction Industry Council: Excellence in Construction Related Training

April 30, 2019

The National Construction Industry Council (NCIC), through the Training and Research Department, continuously offers a variety of construction related training programs in all the regions and districts of Malawi. This is in line with the legal mandate as stipulated in the National Construction Industry Act (Cap. 53:05 of the Laws of Malawi) of 1996. Specifically, in section 11(j), the Act mandates the Council to conduct training within Malawi and coordinate training conducted by others.  This function is one of the major responses to ensuring that the labour market has capacity to be internationally competitive.

The training programs are developed and designed based on the demand from the industry. The needs are identified through annual Training Needs Assessment (TNA). In addition to that, stakeholders identify their special training needs which lead to development of tailor made courses in response to their identified capacity gaps.

Our training adds value to the individuals as well as the firms which they represent. Below are the details of the various programs.

NCIC offers a training programme leading to a certificate in Foremanship level 1 and level 2. These programs run every year at NCIC offices in Lilongwe.
